My first time...

Here, it was my freshman year of college and I naivishly took a course in fiure drawing believing that I was to be draing fruits in a basket or something like that. The first day of class a woman appeared and she simply dropped her robe and then shocked I began to draw this:

I was not about to get any closer or draw and naked bits, until...

The instructor decided that it was a good idea to tell me that my work, while beautiful was not creative and that the purpose was to draw the figure in relation to the objects around it, not the other way around. So, the next class, with the same model, I changed my viewpoint and drew this:

Beautiful right?

I thought so. So as the class continued I learned more and drew more. Below are some sketches and completed drawings during the semester. ( I have some hideous ones but, we won't show those)

So, as you can see, I was pretty good with charcoals. Unfortunately not good enough, still an ametuer in the art world I received a B+ as a grade for this course. Lesson learned, just because you think you've done something monumental, doesn't mean that you don't have room for improvement.
